ROI everywhere

In the Bubble Room Alison Circle noted that Devon, England libraries are running a campaign called “Buy none, get eight free." Steven Abrams’ Lighthouse blog offered a compilation of return on investment studies and tools, the MA Library Association’s among them. And my favorite tech guru, R. David Lankes, asserted at a January meeting, “It may be the economy that’s putting wind in our sails – nonetheless we’re sailing.”

It’s rough sailing indeed. Hanging onto our users now is easy; hanging onto them when times get better may not be. But by focusing on not just the dollar value of service but also on the human value will help us to navigate to calmer water.
